Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment (ROPME)

The Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment (ROPME) has a wealth of data and information that is considered as an important asset for ROPME activities. ROPME is concerned with disseminating the information and knowledge for the protection of the ROPME sea area.

ROPME has identified a need to establish ROPME Integrated Information System (RIIS)

  • RIIS is used for proper management of the existing data and information
  • RIIS will allow disseminating the valuable information to the region

Modules

  1. OCIS (Oceanographic Cruise Information System) - OCIS will assist in storing, classifying and analyzing the collected data during the cruises
  2. SCIS (Sea Contaminants Information System) - SCIS will assist in developing the contaminants section in the state of marine environment reports
  3. RSIS (Remote Sensing Information System) - RSIS will monitor, manage and distribute all the satellite data
  4. CPIS (Country Profile Information System) - CPIS will provide information about ROPME activities, institutions, experts, documents and indicators
